The spread of COVID-19 has been going on for about two years. We enjoyed many different types of events before the outbreak of COVID-19, but as the spread of COVID-19 has prolonged, travel and various events have become virtually impossible, and social distancing guidelines have made gatherings with family and friends difficult. However, as the vaccination rate for many people to get out of COVID-19 increases, many people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 are hopeful that they can enjoy various events while having a meeting. Therefore, our team decided to plan a project in which users who use the Cokoa event web application upload an event, express their intention to participate, and the administrator approves.
Anyone who has signed up can plan and add their own events.
In addition, users have the opportunity to participate in various events and can enjoy various trending events. The scope of participation in the event is very wide, and you can also get news about special pop-up ticket promotions, and the contents of items recommended by restaurants and food markets. Users can participate in events to enjoy a different experience and to try various things while expanding their cultural life.
The admin who manages the site can view and manage all registered users and events currently added at a glance. Our COKOA EVENT also provides a function that allows admins to grant admin rights to specific users.

Before the meteor hackathon started, we did a warm-up for about a month so that we could see the characteristics of the team’s group members. I recognized that our team was weak in design in a project we did last warmup, so I did my best in my role by focusing on design in this meteor hackathon. Also, I had a desire to actively utilize what I had learned in the interaction design class of the ICS464 class that I took last summer. So, in order to facilitate interaction while using our service from the user’s point of view, we implemented simple functions and focused on creating a web interface that catches the user’s attention.
What I learned from this Meteor Hackathon is that the interaction and collaboration between team members plays a very important role in a project. We had a meeting before the meteor hackathon, and everyone agreed with the opinion that regardless of the outcome, we would like each of us to faithfully fulfill our roles. While it’s important for each individual skills, I’ve found that teamwork is especially important on projects involving multiple people. If each individual works depending on his/her ability, there will inevitably be many gaps in the work. However, our team, COKOA, filled each other’s shortcomings with the roles of other team members, so the entire team of 3rd place in Meteor Hackathon was able to achieve satisfactory results.
We consisted of four people, Yong Kim, Cheol Hoon Choi, and Kai Hwang, including me. I was responsible for the overall design, trying to make our web application more user-friendly. Yong Kim is technically experienced in implementing many features, fixing bugs, and helping all the team members. Cheol Hoon Choi, with his delicate and sharp eyes, was able to implement a more complete web application because he found errors that we did not even think about and functions that should be added and gave advice. Finally, Kai Hwang is our team’s idea bank and he has shown great qualities as a leader, guiding our team to the full potential of all members of the team.
